ok so why does everybody think zelda is so great? and why does it get great scores? better than mass effect, knights of the old republic.. etc.

I mean, the story is (if not idiotic) a bit childish and fantasized.. okay, so that normal in the game world. but when the gameplay is boring (for me) and slow too, why is this game getting high scores. weak story and slow long gameplay which doesnt by todays standards gives any emotional feeling, action or emersion. its a no for me.

so how do you think about zelda? and the gameplay and all?

i feel exactly the same, i have twilight princess for the wii, and i wasn't that enthousiastic about it. It is BORING! The gameplay is solid, but the story is slow en you have to walk so much, theres very little action. I think that the games get such a high score because of the theme and style and feeling. Some people just feel attracted to the graphics, characters, world etc. Another thing what I think is LAME for such a highly rated game is the lack of spoken text. THE CHARACTERS DONT EVEN TALK TO YOU. You have to read through many many lines of text and it sucks.

Well I like the game. Bacause of the style, characters and story. I dont know al the zelda games. I only playd the ds game and gamecube game. Gamecube = Windwaker which is the beginning of the story and Ds = Hourglass the second part of the story.

I like those 2 because the style is very nice, exactly what i like. Its very cute and simplistic. I like the puzzles and adventures. I dont care you dont fight a lot and have to discover much. Thats the fun about this game. Soooooo I like this game

But maybe thats because im a gril/women and you guys like action and fighting ^__^

Zelda Wind Waker was better than Twilight Princess imo. Much brighter feel into it. Good old gamecube days..

yup I agree, although TP had better quality, the mystic in WW was much better, the one thing that bugged me about TP is te wolf, everything looks awesome, but the wolf kinda ruined it in my oppinion
im a zelda fan, dont get me wrong, I like all the games exept for the 4 swords adventure, that,,,bah...

the ending in WW is much better, and there were some more hidden spots and glitches =P again the only thing in TP which made me love the game are the graphics
the story is not totally flawless, if they put a bit more effort into it, it would be astonishing.

I hate zora's mask though, dont like it at all, like they've tried to quickly put a game together to keep the fans hapy, they did make a small step of not evolving it totally around zelda, but more around saving the world.
best zelda game for me was Ocarina of Time, although, today that quality sucks, the story was great.

I think the game got such high scores because they've put the bar way higher then previous games. and because everyone was waiting for another good zelda game, and when it came, the quality overpowered them so they put it up high.

I wonder what they'll do to the next game, maybe a bit futurism would be cool for once =]
